Hi David / Alan and amazing crew!
Just wanted to write you a thank you for playing at our wedding. You really made the ceremony so special and I’m so glad you came and played so beautifully- everybody loved you. I’ll never forget the moment walking down the aisle and feeling like I was in a film because of the superb soundtrack your beautiful renditions afforded.
I’m also so glad he have a video which meant I could hear the rest of your set.
Thank you again you were true artists!

18 Nov You were 100% worth every penny we spent…

Posted With Pride By Alan

Hi Capella!
As it is now the month of my 1st wedding anniversary I am sending this email (finally!) to thank you!
I am so sorry that it has taken nearly a year for you to receive this, I honestly don’t know where the time has gone and I feel terrible as you did a fantastic job!
Thinking back to the wedding, my husband and I loved the music.  You made our ceremony magical and our drinks reception fun!  The quartet were the talk of the evening and everyone was very impressed with them especially the range of modern songs played.  In the last year I have been asked by people who were not even at my wedding but had heard from guests how good you were for your details 🙂 (I was aware you changed name so don’t worry I passed on that information too)
I loved dealing with you, you were incredibly helpful and professional.  You were 100 percent worth every penny we spent, and my favourite ‘extra’ of the afternoon 🙂
I now can’t wait until the anniversary arrives that means we get to hire you again!  I’m thinking our 5th wedding anniversary haha,  Rory may not agree this is a milestone however!

Thanks again

14 Jun Need to think up another reason to book you again!

Posted With Pride By Alan

Hey guys,

Sorry this has taken me so long- I’m just getting back to normality!  But just wanted to say thanks for all of your efforts…I loved the music on the day of the wedding and it really helped to make the ceremony special. All of the guests were commenting on how great the music was!

Jay and I had an amazing day- we were talking afterwards about if we would have changed anything and we were saying we would have had less time getting photos taken so we could have heard you play at the hotel as everyone was saying how great it was.

Thanks again for all of your efforts with the preparations too- I really appreciate it.

I’m not planning on remarrying anytime soon so will need to think up another reason to book you again, but will be recommending you to all my friends who get engaged in the meantime.

Thanks again

27 Oct Is that Michael Jackson?

Posted With Pride By Alan

Hi there,

Craig and I just wanted to say thank you so much for playing at our wedding yesterday – we didn’t get a chance to thank you in person and wanted to catch you before we head off on honeymoon later today.

The guests all commented on how lovely you sounded, and I could hear them all guessing the tunes in the drinks reception (lots of people saying ‘is that Michael Jackson?!’) You really added to our day and it was a pleasure having you share the day with us . I hope that everything was ok with you with the venue and things.  Having Calum’s Road playing when I walked down the aisle was really special and I’m glad you could do that for us.

For any of our friends planning weddings we’d definitely recommend you, and then we’d get to listen to you again too!

Thanks again, all the best

27 Apr “THAT’S the moment I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl”

Posted With Pride By Alan

Hi guys! Sorry I’ve not had a chance to write to you yet…the past few weeks have been hectic!

Ross and I wanted to say a huge thank you to the fab trio who played at our wedding on Friday 27 April at The Vu, Bathgate.

Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted a string ensemble to play as I walked down the aisle – and it had to be Canon in D! When I started wedding planning, the first thing I did was look through what felt like a million ensembles listening to them play it. I remember walking up to Alan & David at the SECC wedding show last Feb and saying ‘Hi, can I hear you play Canon please?’ – and stood there listening to the demo almost in tears…it was perfect. Both of you were really down to earth & lovely that I booked you on the spot – without even consulting Ross (eeek).

But, I have no doubt in my mind that it was the best decision I ever made.

Everyone will tell you I wasn’t a nervous bride. I was super organised – monica from friends style! (Perhaps too laid back in the morning, & running late!!) Although, when I stood at the door of WaterLily and you played the first note of Canon I was so overwhelmed with emotion…you sound amazing on your CD but you sound MAGNIFICENT live!!!

THAT’S the moment I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl and you made it so perfect for me..I will never be able to thank you enough!!

Each of our selections for during the ceremony were just as perfect. The first hymn, although not well known, is a favourite of my dad’s & he said he had never heard it played so beautifully! Morning Has Broken just sounded stunning on the strings – almost moved me to (more) tears!

But the icing on the cake was Highland Cathedral – a song which means so much to us and both of our families. All I can say is WOW! Just, WOW!

Unfortunately, due to me being late & us being swept away for our photo session we didn’t get to enjoy your wonderful playing during the drinks reception. However, our guests all enjoyed it very much and we received many compliments about you. ‘You are awesome’ just about sums it up!!

Also, huge thanks for popping through to our reception suite & accompanying us as we were announced to our table. There’s a classic bit on our video when the clapping dies down & we’re standing beside the cake & I can hear ‘Your Song’ and I just burst out crying! Again, completely overwhelmed with emotion, goosebumps, the lot! Could not have been any more perfect!

The whole day went so fast & I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to speak to you properly. I hope you had a nice time, we certainly enjoyed having you there. Our wedding day would not have been what it was without Apollo – so thank you so much!

We want to wish you all the best of everything for what we know will be a very, very successful future for Apollo! You are in a class of your own!

30 Dec It added tremendously to the occasion

Posted With Pride By Alan

We would like to say a huge thanks for helping to make our wedding on 30th December such an enoyable occasion.

Prior to the wedding, we really appreciated all your advice as we tried and tried again, to pick the right music for our big day. You could not have been more helpful.

On the wedding day itself, the music chosen for our ceremony was played beautifully. It could not have been any better and it added tremendously to the occasion.

We would have loved to catch more of your music during the drinks reception after our ceremony but our photographs took a little longer than we expected! However, many of our guests have told us how much they enjoyed your performance.

Hopefully we will get an opportunity to hear you play again some time in the future.

Just wanted to say thank you for your hard work and professionalism at our wedding on the 19th November at Mar Hall.

Gordon was so imressed when he heard you play and I do remember seeing his mother toe-tap when you played ‘A Gordon for me’. I really appreciated you doing this for us and I only wish I could have recorded your playing.

You really did go the extra mile for us and I would have no hesitation in recommending you.

20 Sep Such beautiful music

Posted With Pride By David

I just wanted to write and thank you for the beautiful job you made of the music at our wedding on 1st September. All of the guests said how fabulous you were. Mark especially enjoyed the music in the church pre-ceremony as I think it helped to calm his nerves! I thought all of the music during the ceremony was beautiful, but My Love is Like a Red Red Rose at the signing of the register was definitely a highlight! The music at the Brig o’ Doon was wonderful too and kept the guests who stayed inside very happy.

Thanks again for all your work in preparing such beautiful music for the day – we were absolutely delighted with it and it made the day really special.

25 Aug Thank you so much for all your efforts

Thank you for your email, we had an amazing wedding day. The whole thing was just beautiful, we were very lucky with the weather indeed!

I have only just recently played back video of the ceremony to hear the Einaudi piece you arranged, it was beautiful! It’s very special to my husband and I, so we will treasure it forever. We couldnt have been happier with it and it made my heart melt as I was standing at the door with my dad waiting to walk in.

Thank you so much for all your efforts with it, they are appreciated hugely.

I have happily put in a nomination for you on my VOWS award nominations, with a special mention as to your ‘extra mile’ service.

20 May It was so easy to work with you

Posted With Pride By Alan

We just wanted to say once more how appreciative we are of your services on our wedding day.

It was a total blur and I can’t remember much! However I do recall how impressed everyone was with the quality of your service. I am especially chuffed with the battlestar galactica processional – everyone was muttering “is that what I think it is? Awesome!!”

And on a personal note, I appreciate how easy it was to work with you all – amazing in comparison to some other service providers!!

I just wanted to drop you a wee note to say thankyou for the quartets performance at the weekend. They did a wonderful job and my guests all thought the music was fantastic. It really helped create a great atmosphere and I couldn’t be more more thankful.

The professionalism from Apollo throughout the planning process has been second to none also. I would happily recommend you to friends in the future.

16 Apr The music was simply stunning

Posted With Pride By David

Chris and I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for making our day so special. The music through our service was simply stunning, we could have not wished for anything more.

As for Laura…. OMG her Ave Maria was just incredible and sent shivers down my spine (in a good way of course). Our guests, along with the priest, all commented on how great the music was through the mass and at the reception.

Alan, I would like to say not only did you guys sounds amazing, you personally were great in advising me on what might/might not work and for your quick responses to my emails and just generally putting my mind at ease.

Thanks again guys, and I will continue to sing your praises and recommend you to all for as long as you play together.

03 Jul Thank you for helping to make our dreams come true

Posted With Pride By Alan

We’d just like to say a massive thank you to Apollo Strings for the beautiful music you provided for us on our wedding day.

As a musician myself, the music throughout the ceremony and the rest of the day was very important to me. When we met you at the wedding fair, I just knew you were the ones for our wedding. When I heard you begin to play Pachelbel’s Canon in D as I was waiting outside the room to walk down the aisle, it took me a few moments to compose myself before I could walk in. You know it made me cry before when I heard you guys play it. Also, your accompaniment with the singer for Moon River during the signing of the schedule was just perfect. Thank you for learning that song at such short notice too and for adapting to a last minute key change.

Nothing was too much trouble for you guys and you were highly professional, yet very friendly, from start to finish. From the moment I booked you until the wedding day, you kept in touch with me and answered any queries very promptly. That’s very reassuring for a bride to be as we worry about EVERYTHING!

Many of my guests commented on the wedding day and as late as yesterday, that they could have stood there and listened to you play all day. You were fantastic.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Apollo Strings to any other brides, or indeed to anyone requiring a trio or quartet for a function.

Thank you for helping to make our dreams come true on our perfect wedding day!
