Nicola Boag
Nicola Boag, is a graduate of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
She moved to the United States in 2000 to continue her studies at The Ohio State University and at DePaul University. Her principal teachers include Jane Atkins, Edward Adelson, Patricia Field and Rami Solomonow. She has participated in master classes with Donald McInnes, Philip Dukes, Charles Pikler and Felix Andrievsky. Honors include the Watson Forbes Prize for Viola, The Governors Recital Prize for Strings, The Robert Highgate Scholarship for Violin as well as scholarships to continue her studies from the Sir James Caird Traveling Scholarship Trust and the Scottish International Education Trust.
As a chamber musician she has been involved in several award winning groups that have also have participated in master classes with the Alberni, Vellinger and Edinburgh String Quartets Ms. Boag has been on the faculty of Olivet Nazarene University, the DePaul University Community Music Division and Music Institute of Chicago, where she taught both Suzuki and Traditional violin and viola.
Returning to Scotland in 2010 Ms Boag has been an active freelancer and teacher in Glasgow.
