Hi guys! Sorry I’ve not had a chance to write to you yet…the past few weeks have been hectic!
Ross and I wanted to say a huge thank you to the fab trio who played at our wedding on Friday 27 April at The Vu, Bathgate.
Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted a string ensemble to play as I walked down the aisle – and it had to be Canon in D! When I started wedding planning, the first thing I did was look through what felt like a million ensembles listening to them play it. I remember walking up to Alan & David at the SECC wedding show last Feb and saying ‘Hi, can I hear you play Canon please?’ – and stood there listening to the demo almost in tears…it was perfect. Both of you were really down to earth & lovely that I booked you on the spot – without even consulting Ross (eeek).
But, I have no doubt in my mind that it was the best decision I ever made.
Everyone will tell you I wasn’t a nervous bride. I was super organised – monica from friends style! (Perhaps too laid back in the morning, & running late!!) Although, when I stood at the door of WaterLily and you played the first note of Canon I was so overwhelmed with emotion…you sound amazing on your CD but you sound MAGNIFICENT live!!!
THAT’S the moment I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl and you made it so perfect for me..I will never be able to thank you enough!!
Each of our selections for during the ceremony were just as perfect. The first hymn, although not well known, is a favourite of my dad’s & he said he had never heard it played so beautifully! Morning Has Broken just sounded stunning on the strings – almost moved me to (more) tears!
But the icing on the cake was Highland Cathedral – a song which means so much to us and both of our families. All I can say is WOW! Just, WOW!
Unfortunately, due to me being late & us being swept away for our photo session we didn’t get to enjoy your wonderful playing during the drinks reception. However, our guests all enjoyed it very much and we received many compliments about you. ‘You are awesome’ just about sums it up!!
Also, huge thanks for popping through to our reception suite & accompanying us as we were announced to our table. There’s a classic bit on our video when the clapping dies down & we’re standing beside the cake & I can hear ‘Your Song’ and I just burst out crying! Again, completely overwhelmed with emotion, goosebumps, the lot! Could not have been any more perfect!
The whole day went so fast & I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to speak to you properly. I hope you had a nice time, we certainly enjoyed having you there. Our wedding day would not have been what it was without Apollo – so thank you so much!
We want to wish you all the best of everything for what we know will be a very, very successful future for Apollo! You are in a class of your own!
